Personal Care Shaped Around You
Finding The Right Support
Choosing care is a personal decision. Families need clear information, honest guidance and time to consider what feels right.
Our team will speak with you about the support required, daily routines, communication, health needs and personal preferences. This helps us understand whether Underhall is the right setting and how we should plan the care provided.
Explore our three main care services below.
Residential Care
Residential care at Underhall provides ongoing support for people who no longer wish to live alone or who need regular help with everyday life.
Residents have their own routines, interests and preferences. Our team works around these rather than expecting everyone to follow the same day.
Support is personal, respectful and focused on helping each resident feel comfortable, involved and known.
The level of support provided reflects each resident’s individual care plan. This may include help with:
Personal care and dressing
Washing and bathing
Mobility and moving safely
Meals and dietary requirements
Medication, where agreed within the care plan
Appointments and communication with professionals
Maintaining routines and personal interests
Emotional reassurance and companionship
Dementia Care
Every person experiences dementia differently.
Our approach begins with understanding the individual, including their life history, relationships, routines, communication and the things which bring reassurance.
This knowledge helps our team provide dementia care which feels personal, calm and consistent.
Changes in routine or surroundings sometimes feel confusing for a person living with dementia.
We use familiar routines, clear communication and consistent approaches to help reduce uncertainty. Staff take time to explain what is happening, respond patiently and recognise changes in mood or behaviour.
Care plans include information about personal history, preferences, important relationships, communication and sources of comfort.
Respite Care
Respite care provides temporary support for a planned period.
A respite stay might give a family carer time to rest, provide additional support following illness or hospital treatment, or help during a temporary change in circumstances.
Some people also choose respite care to experience life at Underhall before considering longer-term residential care.
Short-term care receives the same attention and planning as a longer placement.
Before the stay, we learn about the person’s usual routine, support requirements, communication, medication, dietary needs and personal interests.
This helps our team prepare for their arrival and make the transition feel calmer and more familiar.
Day Care is also available, from the hours of 9am-5pm. Including 3 meals, day-to-day activities, and helping you transition and integrate into a care setting.
